The BID has installed a series of bug hotels around the southern side of Farleymoor Lake, created with the help of enthusiastic volunteers from local businesses. The project uses eco-friendly, biodegradable materials sourced from companies within the Western Business Area, supporting the BID’s goal to make Bracknell a greener, more sustainable place to live and
Farleymoor Lake, located off Western Road in the Western Business Area, is one of several green spaces within the BID area. Once a balancing pond along the line of the Downmill River, the lake has become a peaceful natural spot enjoyed by employees of local businesses, visitors, and members of the Bracknell Herons Angling Club.
Bracknell BID organises regular Tidy Days to help keep the Southern and Western Business Area clean through lunchtime community litter picking sessions. The BID has hosted over 10 Tidy Days so far, with over 100 volunteers from local businesses litter picking over their lunch break.
