Bracknell BID are organising regular Tidy Days to help keep the Southern and Western Business Area clean through lunchtime community litter picking sessions.
Volunteers are provided all necessary PPE and equipment, as well as complimentary refreshments.
The BID has hosted 6 Tidy Days so far, with over 20 businesses volunteering to litter pick over their lunch break, helping to make a significant difference in keeping Bracknell tidy.

Bracknell BID organised Tidy Days to keep Bracknell Tidy, fulfilling the BID’s aims to develop amenities and schemes, benefits and events for those who work in the BID area to promote the feeling of community, pleasant surroundings, and a sense of well-being. The Tidy Days are part of the BID’s wider strategy in working to maintain and improve the general condition and appearance of roads, footpaths, cycleways and grass verges throughout the BID area, through BID funded vegetation cutbacks, maintenance and pest control throughout the BID.
The project satisfies Objective 1 Infrastructure activity e) Working with partners to maintain and improve where necessary, the general condition and appearance of roads, footpaths, cycle ways and verges throughout the BID area including the additional gritting of roads where needed. Businesses stated how condition of roads and footpaths (85%) and street cleaning and litter control (76%) were important factors to their business, and reiterates the necessity in organising regular community litter picking events.
The project also satisfies Objective 2 Facilities and benefits b) Develop schemes, benefits and events for those who work in businesses in the BID area which promote the feeling of community, a sense of well-being and encourages staff retention and productivity.
