Bracknell BID Tidy Days 2023

As part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean period, Bracknell BID organised two Tidy Days on the 21st and 22nd March 2023 between 12pm and 2pm, for businesses within the Southern and Western Business Areas to take part in community litter picking on their lunch break.

The Tidy Days fulfil the BID’s aims to develop amenities and schemes, benefits and events for those who work in the BID area to promote the feeling of community, pleasant surroundings, and a sense of well-being. The Days are part of the BID’s wider strategy in working to maintain and improve the general condition and appearance of roads, footpaths, cycleways and grass verges throughout the BID area, with the BID already funding works at Farleymoor Lake, Longshot lane, Cookham Road, Western Road and Downmill Road.

The Tidy Day volunteers covered a significant part of the Bracknell BID area over the two days, cleansing Western Road, Western Trade Centre, Downmill Road, Farleymoor Lake, Cain Road, Milbanke Way, Longshot Lane, Easthampstead Road, Mill Lane, Oldbury, the footpath and cycleway on Mill Lane, the footpath on Oldbury to Downmill Road, gravel footpath on Oldbury to Longshot Lane, ancient woodland by Waitrose, as well as the adjacent woodland footpath by Longshot Lane.

Bracknell BID would like to thank everyone who participated in our Tidy Days, the two events had an excellent turnout from businesses from the Southern and Western Business Area with 40 participants volunteering over their lunch breaks. Over the two days, we collected over 65 bags of litter and this has made a substantial difference in keeping Bracknell tidy.

We would like to thank Bracknell Forest Council, John Lewis, Waitrose & Partners, Dell, Riverbed, IRI Worldwide, NEP Group, 3M, Energy Efficient Solutions Group, Overbury, Allegis Group and Greggs for supporting the Tidy Days.
