Bracknell BID organised a Tidy Day on 7th September between 12pm and 2pm, for businesses within the Southern and Western Business Areas to take part in community litter picking on their lunch break.
The Tidy Day fulfil the BID’s aims to develop amenities and schemes, benefits and events for those who work in the BID area to promote the feeling of community, pleasant surroundings, and a sense of well-being. The Tidy Days are part of the BID’s wider strategy in working to maintain and improve the general condition and appearance of roads, footpaths, cycleways and grass verges throughout the BID area, with the BID already funding works at Farleymoor Lake, Longshot lane, Cookham Road, Western Road and Downmill Road.
Over the lunchtime, the Tidy Day volunteers covered the Western Business Area, cleansing Western Road, Easthampstead Road, and Kiln Lane.
Bracknell BID would like to thank everyone who participated in our Tidy Days. Despite heatwave temperatures reaching over 32 degrees, the lunchtime event had a fantastic turnout from businesses from the Southern and Western Business Area with 15 workers volunteering over their lunch break. We collected over 30 bags of litter and this has made a considerable difference in keeping Bracknell tidy after summer.
We would like to thank PEAC Solutions, Allegis Group, Dell, Alexander Mann Solutions, Greggs, and Bracknell Forest Council for supporting the Tidy Days.
