Bracknell BID funded lighting installation underway on Easthampstead Road and on the footpath adjacent to Mill Lane

The BID has funded two new lighting columns on Easthampstead Road and four new lighting columns on the footpath/cycleway adjacent to Mill Lane. Works are underway in both areas and due to be complete in the coming weeks. The works on the footpath/cycleway adjacent to Mill Lane will now mean the route between Twin Bridges Roundabout and Doncastle Road/Ellesfield Ave. Roundabout will be fully-lit with no dark spots, improving safety and confidence for walkers and cyclists in the dark evenings.

The BID has also worked with Bracknell Forest Council to complete lighting infrastructure works at two other locations in the BID area; Longshot Lane Industrial Estate and Doncastle Road. These areas were identified by the BID and local businesses as areas in need of repair, and successfully collaborated with the Council to ensure this was addressed before winter.

These works are part of the BID’s work to improve lighting on footpaths and cycleways, especially at places of more frequent activity to pedestrians to ensure safety for all users of the footpath and cycleways.
