The BID is delighted to announce that attendees will be joined by world-leading Cave Rescuer and Arco Manager Mike Clayton, who will be giving his gripping insight into his most dramatic and dangerous rescues. Mike Clayton was part of the rescue team that helped save 12 schoolboys and their football coach after they became trapped in a complex of caves in Thailand, providing support on the ground to the divers, garnering widespread attention across the world for the unprecedented cave rescue. The incredible rescue mission and its dramatic events involving tragedy, adversity and endurance from the rescue team as well as those trapped, were made into Hollywood film last year titled ‘Thirteen Lives’.
Mike will be giving an exciting talk and walkthrough of the events that unfolded, and how he has utilised his expertise in the safety sector to support emergency services in life-threatening situations in some of the country’s most inhospitable environments. Mike received the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of his life-saving work with Midlands Cave Rescue Organisation.
Mike works as Arco’s Equipment Department Manager and is responsible for the selection, procurement and delivery of the equipment in Arco’s Professional Safety Services business. Externally, Mike is the Chairman of Midlands Cave Rescue Organisation and the National Equipment Officer for the British Cave Rescue Council.
This Business Breakfast will give attendees a visceral insight into how Arco are experts in safety, as well as a tour of their newest Safety Centre located in Bracknell.
This business Breakfast is not to be missed, attendees will be able to learn from Mike about the unnerving events of the Thai Cave Rescue firsthand, as well as how he has been involved in some of the world’s most dangerous rescues and how a local BID business are experts in the world of safety.
The business breakfast will start at 8.30am and finish by 10.30am. Attendees will enjoy a complimentary light breakfast and time to network with other businesses and some fascinating talks by the host business.
