Take part in the Giving Tree at your workplace! Give a gift for a child experiencing hardship this Christmas

Bracknell BID have partnered with Bracknell-based charity Sebastian’s Action Trust on a Giving Tree initiative this Christmas.

Sebastian’s Action Trust are a local Bracknell Forest charity that provides emotional, social and practical care for life-limited and life-threatened children and their families.

Sebastian’s Action Trust guarantee to provide a Gift or Day Out to a supported child or their family.

All items/experiences have been carefully selected by their outreach team so that the gift is appropriate to that child.

What is the Giving Tree?

Designed to be a fun alternative to the traditional Secret Santa, Giving Tree is not only simple to get involved with but a fun exercise for the whole office!

Sebastian’s Action Trust’s Giving Tree is inviting firms and individuals to ‘Ditch Secret Santa’ and buy toys or experiences for their supported children and their families who are going through unimaginably hard times.

The recipients are children who are living with a critical illness which in turn involves many hospital visits, invasive procedures and don’t have the opportunity to enjoy a typical childhood.

Their families often experience financial hardship and without the Giving Tree, these children may not otherwise receive a gift or day out at Christmas.

Anyone can take part and organisations are encouraged to advertise the opportunity to staff via their Intranet or email so that even if they are working from home they can still participate as if they were in the office.

How does it work?
Taking part is simple. Here are 5 easy steps explaining the Giving Tree process:

  1. Your office will be given a number of tags with details of gifts that have been requested – so pick a tag.
  2. Purchase the toy and do not wrap it.
  3. Drop off back in your designated area.
  4. Sebastian’s Action Trust will then come and collect all of the gifts.
  5. For more information, contact Nicola on 01344 622500 or email

If your business would like to take part and would like to request tags for your workplace, please email
