Thames Valley Berkshire Smart City Cluster project – showcase event on 17th December

The Smart City Cluster initiative is designed to demonstrate how smart technology can help local authorities deliver better public services. Backed by over £2million of funding from the Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and led by Reading Borough Council, it brings virtual capabilities and cutting-edge solutions to council professionals in Berkshire and their communities.

.

This ground-breaking initiative has already introduced a diverse range of smart technology aimed squarely at enabling and supporting community projects across vital services such as transport, energy, the environment and assisted living. All solutions are backed by a state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) communications network (LoRaWAN) that provides wide coverage across Berkshire from urban centres to rural areas.

.

On 17 December, there will be a dedicated Thames Valley Berkshire Smart City Cluster event that will showcase the smart technology solutions used by the first nine partner organisations through a series of ‘real world’ workshops.
