Bracknell BID ‘Meet Your Neighbour’ Business Breakfast – Midwich – Wednesday 26th April

On Wednesday 26th April, Bracknell BID organised a ‘Meet Your Neighbour’ Business Breakfast event for BID area businesses at Midwich, Innovation House, Segro Park, in the Southern Business Area.

Close to 50 attendees enjoyed a complimentary light breakfast with tea and coffee and time to network with other businesses.

Sean Griffin, the Bracknell BID Manager, gave a brief update on the BID’s current and future projects, before introducing Kevin Morrison from Midwich Group to give a talk about their business and history in Bracknell.

Kevin Morrison, Director of Finance and Operations, gave a fascinating presentation about Midwich Group as a leading global specialist audio visual (AV) distributor to the trade market, and their journey to breaking through the £1 billion revenue barrier this year for the first time in its history. Kevin showcased Midwich Group’s various subsidiary brands that operate across the world in their 33 offices/showrooms, including Midwich, Invision, Owl Visual, Square One, PSCo and Sound Technology, as well as their acquisition history and expansion worldwide, and their international brands overall.

Kevin explained how Midwich Group prides itself on its trade only status, detailing Midwich Group’s long-standing relationships with over 600 vendors, including blue-chip organisations, and how they support a comprehensive product portfolio across major AV categories such as displays, projectors, technical AV, broadcast, professional audio, lighting and unified communications. Kevin showcased key case studies, from work carried out at Venice FC Arena, to Cattolica University in Milan, as well as AV implementation at IKEA’s flagship London Store.

Kevin also highlighted the work Midwich Group does for the Environment and their Social Responsibility targets overall; The Group is committed to developing their employees through wellbeing programmes, in addition to working locally to help give back to the community through volunteering and donations, as well as their new sustainability strategy.

Following the presentations, attendees were allowed to explore Innovation House, home to the UK’s largest multi-brand experience centre, showcasing the latest AV solutions from 50 leading brands, set out across 15 application zones. Attendees were able to explore the captivating experience centre, and the latest pioneering technology in AV, including an immersive cinema! Attendees were also able to talk to brand vendors about their remarkable AV products on display to learn more about the technology.
