ILX Group: Empowering people and organisations through learning

With a proud history spanning over 35 years, ILX Group stands at the forefront of the digital learning and professional development industry. Known for delivering transformative training solutions, ILX empowers individuals and businesses worldwide by offering a broad spectrum of high-quality courses – from technical certifications and leadership development to essential soft skills training. Their learning experiences are not just about knowledge transfer; they’re about creating lasting, positive change that helps organisations thrive in a fast-paced world.

Rooted in Bracknell, operating globally

Established in 1988, ILX has a long-standing connection with Bracknell. Previously based in the town centre, they recently relocated to The Lightbox – a modern, collaborative workspace situated in the Southern Business Area. This move marks a new chapter for ILX as they continue to grow their presence in Bracknell while expanding their global footprint.

Oliver Whipp, Manufacturing & Automotive Account Manager at ILX shared: “We’ve always been based in Bracknell, just in different parts. Now we’re in The Lightbox, which is a fantastic space for our team.”

ILX operate globally, and in the last 12 months they have delivered training in over 100 countries.

Comprehensive training solutions for a changing world

ILX’s diverse course offering caters to a wide audience, from individuals seeking career advancement to multinational organisations looking to upskill entire teams. Their training portfolio includes globally recognised certifications and digital skills courses such as:

  • PRINCE2® – a well-known methodology used by individuals and businesses globally to manage projects effectively and in a structured approach
  • Scrum – an Agile framework that enhances project flexibility, efficiency, and team collaboration through roles such as Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner
  • Change Management™ – a qualification that equips learners with the essential skills needed to lead and support successful organisational change
  • Lean Six Sigma – a framework that combines Lean’s waste-reduction principles with Six Sigma’s quality improvement methods to enhance efficiency and performance
  • GenAI – a portfolio of courses that provide learners with practical skills in key AI technologies, from foundational basics to advanced and specialised understanding of AI application in business practice

These are delivered through a range of flexible learning formats including eLearning, live virtual classrooms, and in-person training, ensuring learners can engage in a way that suits their schedule, learning style, and location. Behind every course is a team of dedicated professionals supporting learners from enrolment through to certification.

ILX also offers consultancy services to help organisations identify and resolve portfolio, programme and project (PPM)-related challenges. As Oliver explained, “Our consultants help organisations to assess the capabilities of their people and the effectiveness of their processes. They then design tailored consulting solutions that develop skills and facilitate behavioural change.”

Values that drive impact

ILX’s mission is built around four key principles: taking ownership, passion, teamwork, and making a difference. These values are woven into every aspect of the business – from product development to customer service – and reflect the company’s goal of creating training experiences that unlock real individual and organisational potential.

A culture of giving back

ILX’s impact reaches far beyond training. As part of their commitment to corporate social responsibility, staff participate in regular fundraising and volunteering activities. These have included events like the Yorkshire Three Peaks, The Stockholm Marathon, and their “Mad May March,” where the team collectively walked over 3,000 km – the distance from Lands’ End to John o’ Groats and back.

Each ILX employee is also entitled to a paid volunteering day per year. Staff have supported initiatives ranging from local care homes to environmental clean-up efforts. As Steven Wedlock, ILX Account Manager noted, “Our manager Siobhan volunteered at a care home, and a group from our Bracknell office gave their time to help Swan Lifeline in Windsor.”

ILX raised over £6,000 for The Menopause Charity, their nominated charity for 2023–2024, and are now fundraising for Shelter, further demonstrating their commitment to meaningful community involvement.

Innovation in learning: embracing AI

Looking ahead, ILX is embracing emerging technologies to enhance the learner experience. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their training solutions, the company is streamlining content delivery, increasing personalisation, and helping businesses save time and money while improving workforce performance.

As Oliver explained: “Part of our future plans focus on AI. We recently hosted a client event with PeopleCert called ‘Combining AI and human expertise’ that looked at how AI tools can help busy professionals to save time, but also demonstrated the importance of human oversight.”

In addition, ILX recently acquired StayAhead Training, expanding their capabilities in IT training across platforms such as Red Hat, Oracle, and JavaScript. They also deliver ISTQB qualifications and a broad range of software testing courses under their TSG Training business.

Proud to be part of the Bracknell BID community

Since moving to the Southern Business Area, ILX has been an active member of the Bracknell BID community. Team members are taking advantage of the free yoga and bootcamp exercise classes, and Steven shared his appreciation: “We value the BID shuttle bus services, and discount opportunities, which help during the rising cost of living.”

The team regularly uses the ‘I Work’ Loyalty Card, enjoying savings at local shops and restaurants, and benefits from the BID shuttle bus, which offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly commute.

Shaping the future of learning from Bracknell

From their modern hub in Bracknell, ILX continues to shape the future of professional development by combining innovation, community spirit, and a deep commitment to people. As they embrace AI and expand further into IT training, they remain anchored by their mission to inspire change through learning.

Bracknell BID is proud to spotlight ILX Group as a dynamic and forward-thinking member of the BID’s business community – one that continues to invest in people, purpose, and progress.
