Bracknell BID ‘Meet Your Neighbour’ Business Breakfast – The Lightbox – 26th October


On Wednesday 26th October, Bracknell BID organised a ‘Meet Your Neighbour’ Business Breakfast event for BID area businesses at The Lightbox, Willoughby Road, in the Southern Business Area.

Around 45 attendees enjoyed a complimentary light breakfast with tea and coffee and time to network with other businesses.

Sean Griffin, the Bracknell BID Manager, gave a brief update on the BID’s current projects and future projects, before introducing three businesses resident to The Lightbox (a landmark multi-storey office building facility) to give a talk about their business and history in Bracknell.

George Frederick Randolph, CEO of GFR Tech, gave a captivating presentation on their end-to-end IT Solutions and Managed IT Services aimed toward small and medium sized businesses. George detailed GFR Tech’s innovative solutions that encompass all aspects of IT such as computer hardware, software, internet connections, on site installation services, managed IT Helpdesk service and Video Conference Hardware, highlighting their diverse clientele from various sectors spread across the country. George also brought along demonstration hardware, showcasing some of their IT solutions such as CCTV, Paxton Door Entry, and Phones.

Phil Beresfold, Qualified Finance Consultant, and Abby Batham, Technology Team Lead at Morgan McKinley, gave a fascinating talk on their professional recruitment consultancy services within Bracknell and how Morgan McKinley is now a global organisation operating in 9 countries. Phil detailed Morgan McKinley’s services at the Thames Valley Office, connecting specialist talent with leading employers across multiple industries, highlighting their recent placements and specialisation in finance recruitment. Abby gave an insight into the Bracknell team and scope of businesses they work with, from large corporates to SME’s, including household names such as Barclays, Dell, Adobe, Boehringer Ingelheim, and JP Morgan.

Phil Williams, Strategy Consultant at Curve Workplaces, gave an inspiring talk about Curve Workplaces design construction and furniture business, specialising in commercial interior fit out and refurbishments, and its Head Office based in Bracknell. Paul shared his own personal journey with Curve Workplaces, and how they provide clients within inventive design and efficient construction on a turnkey basis for a variety of companies across the UK. Paul also detailed the businesses ethos through its logo: we consult, configure and construct.

Louise Welland, Building Manager at The Lightbox, also gave a tour of the building to some attendees interested in the space available, highlighting why some of Bracknell’s most dynamic start-up, small businesses and national headquarters are located within The Lightbox’s office building.
