Bracknell BID have delivered several Emergency First Aid at Work training courses to equip employees across the business area with essential life‑saving skills and confidence to respond in workplace emergencies. The accredited 7‑hour session, delivered by a professional training provider, covered key areas including CPR, use of defibrillators (AEDs), and how to assess and manage emergency situations.
Participants gained practical knowledge on responding to incidents such as choking, seizures, bleeding and shock, as well as understanding the responsibilities of a workplace first aider. Upon completion, attendees received certified training and CPD accreditation, helping businesses ensure they have qualified first aiders on site.
The initiative strengthened workplace safety, increased emergency preparedness, and supported the wellbeing of employees across the BID area by providing them with the skills to act quickly and effectively in critical situations.
This project supported Objective 1 – Business Growth and Investment, sub-objective 2b, by delivering a benefit that enhances staff wellbeing, fosters a sense of community, and supports staff retention and productivity and sub-objective 5a & 5b, by developing skills, supporting training opportunities, and promoting the health and wellbeing of employees.
