Meet your local PCSO Tony Melish

PCSO Tony Melish is one of the Police Community Support Officers in Bracknell, covering the Western Business Area as well as other areas around Bracknell. Tony has been in service with Thames Valley Police for the past 14 years, and has resided in Bracknell all his life. Tony’s patrol has now expanded to cover the Western Business Area. The BID team met with Tony to discuss his experience and his new role in the Western Business Area.

  • What are you most excited about as part of your new role in the Bracknell BID area?

I’m looking forward to a new challenge and any way the Police can help to stop things before they happen. I’m committed to helping local residents and businesses in Bracknell and keeping the community a safe place to live and work.

  • Tell us about your previous PCSO roles?

I’ve worked across much of Bracknell, covering Crownwood and Forest Park, as well as Priestwood and Garth amongst the areas of my patrol in Bracknell.

  • What are you hoping to bring to the team?

I’m born and bred in Bracknell, so my local knowledge about Bracknell and the local community is a key strength of mine that can help keep local businesses and residents safe. My patrol will now be covering the Western Business Area too, so I’m keen to build relationships with the community and local businesses in my patrol areas.

On Tuesday 25th April, the Bracknell BID and Thames Valley Police PCSO Tony Melish visited businesses within the Western Business Area on Longshot Lane. This gave businesses a chance to talk about any crime, safety issues or concerns as well as promoting our partnership on DISC, the digital neighbourhood watch platform fully-funded by the BID, which can be read about here. The BID is working with Thames Valley Police to create a dedicated and visible police presence in the area which works closely with businesses, developing important relationships with businesses to support them in preventing crime.

If you would like to meet and have a chat with your local PCSO, you can contact us directly to organise a visit at enquiries@bracknellbid.co.uk.
