Bracknell BID has coordinated the donation of 30 laptops from a local BID business to four Bracknell Forest secondary schools, helping to improve access to digital learning and reduce barriers to participation. The schools benefiting from the initiative are Garth Hill College, King’s Academy Easthampstead Park, Sandhurst School, and Ranelagh School.
Schools shared the view that the laptops would have the greatest impact when allocated to pupils who would benefit most from improved access to digital learning tools. The donation will help ensure students are able to fully engage in their education, regardless of their access to technology outside of school.
For pupils without reliable access to digital devices at home, the laptops will support access to online learning platforms, homework, and educational resources. Within school, they will also help ensure students can participate confidently in lessons, complete coursework, and use essential digital learning tools alongside their peers.
Rory Lewis, Acting BID Manager for Bracknell BID, said:
“Bracknell BID is proud to have brought together a local BID business and four local schools to make this donation possible. Access to technology plays a vital role in education, and these laptops will help ensure more young people across Bracknell have equal opportunities to learn, develop, and succeed both in school and at home.”
Mr Keith Grainger, Principal at Garth Hill College, said:
“We thank Bracknell BID for this donation which will make a meaningful difference to our students. Access to technology enhances learning, and these laptops will help students to progress and achieve.”
Mr Matt Hall, Head of School at King’s Academy Easthampstead Park, said:
“We are incredibly grateful for this support. Many families face challenges in accessing digital devices, and these laptops will open up new opportunities for our pupils to engage more confidently with their studies.”
Mr Gareth Croxon, Principal at Sandhurst School said:
“The generosity shown through this initiative highlights the strength of our local community. These laptops will be put to immediate use, helping students develop vital digital skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.”
Mr Timothy Griffith, Headteacher at Ranelagh School, said:
“This donation will have a lasting impact on our school. Ensuring that all students can fully participate in digital learning is a key priority for us, and we are extremely grateful to Bracknell BID and its business partners for their support.”
