Thames Valley Police FREE Cyber Protect Awareness Sessions for 2023

If you’re a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) then there’s around a 1 in 3 chance that you’ll experience a cyber security breach. Thames Valley Police Cyber Protect are offering a variety of Cyber Protect Awareness Presentations to businesses within Bracknell (and Thames Valley) to help protect against cyber attacks.

The Cyber Protect Awareness Sessions can be delivered in-person, or online via Teams or Zoom.

Staff Session
The Cyber Awareness sessions are approximately 1.5 hours (including questions) and will cover:

  • Reporting of suspicious emails, text messages and websites
  • Other examples of common digital enabled fraud
  • Privacy settings / over sharing of personal information on social media
  • How and where to report Fraud and Cyber Crime.
  • Summary and signposting to further advice, guidance and information.

Leadership Session
The leadership sessions are approximately 1.5 hours (including questions). They are pitched for company leaders and decision makers and are limited in technical complexity.

Decisions & Disruptions Exercise

Thames Valley Police also offer a boardroom exercise to emphasise the need for all aspects of cyber security. This unique table top exercise is designed to explore the decisions that people make in order to protect their businesses from modern day threats, such as hacking and malware attacks, in addition to physical security and crime prevention. It was developed by Lancaster University and can be found at www.decisions-disruptions.org. The Police version of the exercise has been modified based on the real-world attacks seen in their cybercrime unit.
