The BID organised a ‘Meet your Neighbour’ business breakfast event on 12th November, hosted by Ozone Ice Rink on Western Road. Ozone Ice Rink Bracknell is the newest state of the art ice training facility in the UK, offering ice skating, figure skating and hockey lessons and sessions. Whether at professional or beginner level, Ozone’s purpose built ice rink and off-ice studio is perfect for all skating requirements.
The ‘Meet your Neighbour’ business breakfast event allowed for Ozone Ice Rink to showcase the brand new facility to attendees with a behind the scenes tour of the facility, which included an ice skating demonstration by one of Ozone’s figure skaters, a visit to the facility’s bar and cafe, ‘Bar Down,’ which overlooks the rink, and attendees had a go at virtual reality ice hockey.
Attendees enjoyed a complimentary light breakfast with tea and coffee and time to network with other businesses, followed by an introduction by Sean Griffin, the Bracknell BID manager, giving a brief update on the BID.
The added availability of innovative ‘off ice’ training, including virtual reality practice, enables ice-skating participants to use new technology and training programmes, which was available for attendees to experience a taster of the technology.
In addition, Head of on-Ice Operations Danny Meyers, gave a captivating and inspiring talk on how the state of the art facility was developed and set up. Danny Meyers had an illustrious career as a Ice Hockey player, winning 59 caps for GB, scoring six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. The former Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers (and formerly Bracknell Bees) Defenceman won a silver and a bronze medal in is 12-year GB career. Having captained the GB Under-16s, Under-18s and Under-20s, and representing senior level, Danny Meyers is passionate in turning Ozone Ice Rink into a flagship training facility for the GB Team and their youth alike. Teams from across Great Britain attend the facility, known for establishing itself as one the best modern training facilities the UK has to offer.
The BID would like to thank all at Ozone for hosting the event.
