March Monthly Round-Up – Age Concern Bracknell Forest

age concern

March has been an active and engaging month for Age Concern Bracknell Forest, with a wide range of activities helping older residents stay social, connected, and active. The charity has several upcoming trips, including visits to Windsor Great Park, the Weald & Downland Living Museum, and Painshill Park, all part of their ongoing programme designed to support wellbeing through nature, movement, and companionship.

In April, the charity will also be hosting a guided walk at South Hill Park, offering another opportunity for local people to enjoy the outdoors while benefiting their health and wellbeing.

A standout moment in March was a well‑attended guided walk at Lily Hill Park, which brought members of the community together for an uplifting morning of fresh air, gentle exercise, and friendly conversation.

Day Centre – Limited Spaces Available

Age Concern Bracknell Forest is also highlighting rare availability at its Day Centre, which provides a welcoming, supportive environment for older people – including those living with dementia – who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation. The service also offers valuable respite for carers, ensuring peace of mind while loved ones enjoy a safe, engaging day.

For £49 per day, guests receive:

  • A full day of creative and stimulating activities
  • Access to a small, independent cinema room
  • A freshly prepared two‑course lunch
  • Unlimited drinks and snacks
  • A friendly, social environment

The Day Centre is dementia‑friendly and open to any older person who would benefit from companionship and daytime support. With availability across the week, new members are warmly welcomed.
