Founded in 2022, ELLES Psychology Ltd is a sister‑founded psychology practice with a simple but powerful aim: to bring compassionate, evidence‑based psychological support into everyday environments. Now based in Bracknell’s Southern Business Area, the team works across the UK with businesses, families, schools and local authorities, supporting people to thrive both personally and professionally.
Although new to Bracknell, ELLES has quickly begun to feel at home since relocating to the area in February 2026. Previously operating remotely and later from an office in Fleet, Hampshire, the move was a thoughtful and intentional one – offering a geographical midpoint for the founders and a welcoming base within a well‑connected, community‑focused business town.
A sister‑led business built on shared values
ELLES Psychology was founded by sisters Emma Hill and Lauren Deacon, who had long imagined what it might be like to work together. After developing their careers independently, the idea began to take shape around 2019. The business officially launched in 2022 alongside part‑time roles, before both founders transitioned to full‑time work in September 2023.
Their first team member joined in January 2024, and today ELLES has grown into a small but dedicated team of three, with a fourth role currently being recruited. The business is also supported by a trusted business consultant, helping ensure growth remains thoughtful, ethical and sustainable.
Expertise shaped by both knowledge and lived experience
What truly sets ELLES Psychology apart is the balance it strikes between professional expertise and lived experience.
Emma is a qualified Educational Psychologist and former teacher, bringing extensive academic training alongside years of hands‑on work with children, families, schools and local authorities. Her work is grounded in positive psychology, strengths‑based practice and thoughtful, creative use of tools – ensuring support feels both effective and empowering.
Lauren brings an equally important and complementary perspective. Diagnosed with Autism (ASD) in her early twenties, she has firsthand experience of the challenges neurodivergent individuals often face, particularly when transitioning beyond education and into the workplace. Alongside this, Lauren has held roles across corporate, public sector and senior school business management settings, giving ELLES a strong, pragmatic understanding of how organisations function day‑to‑day.
Together, they describe their approach as “knowledge and experience combined” – blending theory, evidence and human reality to create meaningful, lasting outcomes.
Guided by balance, kindness and collaboration
ELLES operates with a clear and grounded mission:
To bring meaningful psychological support to everyday spaces – workplaces, homes, schools and beyond – using approaches that are evidence‑based, person‑centred, and always rooted in kindness, ethics and collaboration.
At the heart of this is the idea of “both/and” – choosing balance rather than extremes. ELLES believes people and organisations can be structured and flexible, strong and gentle, supportive and with appropriate boundaries. Growth, they believe, happens when these qualities work together rather than against each other.
Beyond tick‑box support
ELLES delivers a wide range of psychologically informed services, grounded in real‑world need rather than surface‑level solutions. Core work includes statutory support for local authorities, psychological advice for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and close collaboration with schools and families.
Alongside this, the business is expanding its training and support for organisations – particularly in areas where support often drops away once individuals leave education.
Current and planned training areas include:
- Employee wellbeing and resilience
- Leadership and management
- Workplace relationships, conflict and resolution
- Neurodiversity (including ASD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia)
- Bereavement and loss
- Supporting working parents
- Physical, sensory and communication differences, including EAL
What distinguishes ELLES’ training is its play‑based, strengths‑focused delivery. Rather than relying on presentation‑heavy formats, sessions are interactive, creative and grounded in psychology, leaving people with practical tools they can actually use.
“Adults are just big children,” the sisters explain. “We still need structure, creativity and play – we just express it differently.”
Proactive support with real impact
ELLES strongly believes that the greatest impact comes from proactive psychological support. While responsive services are available during periods of challenge or critical incidents, the team’s focus is on building understanding, confidence and resilience before difficulties arise.
By developing relationships early, organisations are far better equipped to support their staff when challenges such as conflict, neurodiversity needs or bereavement occur.
Becoming part of Bracknell’s business community
Since joining Bracknell BID, Emma and Lauren have actively engaged with local initiatives, including Meet Your Neighbour, where the team presented within just weeks of arriving.
They value the BID’s focus on wellbeing, connection and collaboration, and describe Bracknell as a place where businesses feel supported on a genuinely human level – not isolated, but part of something shared.
Looking ahead
Sustainability and community involvement are core values for ELLES. The team works paper‑free where possible, recycles, car shares, uses public transport and supports local initiatives as the business continues to grow.
Looking forward, Emma and Lauren hope to deepen their involvement within Bracknell, continue expanding business training services, and establish a permanent base that encourages connection, learning and psychological wellbeing.
“This work means everything to us,” they say.
“As we grow, we hope others will grow with us – to trust us, work alongside us, and perhaps see a little of their own journey reflected in ours.”
