The family-run business leading the way in customer service

Dan and Donna Vittozzi are the proud owners of Bracknell-based business Baileys Garage, whose name is steeped in history and dates back to the 1900s.

After doing an apprenticeship in mechanics and gaining experience in the industry, Dan followed his dream of owning his own business and took over the garage in 2011. Specialising in Class 4 MOTs, servicing and repairs, Baileys Garage is hugely popular with individuals and businesses across Bracknell and the surrounding areas, with one customer even coming all the way from Reading to use their services.

Dan and Donna have worked hard to grow their customer base and provides services to a wide range of businesses in the local area, from landscapers to electrical contractors.

A true family-run business, Dan’s brother Tim also works for the business and is well known by his customers for his big smile and friendly and helpful approach – in fact, Tim regularly gets stopped by customers when out shopping or running errands as he so well liked.

When talking about their success, Donna puts it all down to their honest and open approach which has enabled them to build an extremely reputable business and very loyal customer base.

Donna says, “Our customer service is what separates us from other garages. The trade often gets a bad reputation and understandably so as people begrudge paying for something as mundane as a car repair or service. Being transparent is really important as well as trustworthy and we hear if first-hand from our customers that they really value our genuine approach to customer service.”

The business employs three other technicians in the workshop and are currently looking to take on a fourth. Keen to grow the company, Dan is passionate about providing his staff with opportunities for training and improving their skillset and also supports apprentices looking to get into the profession.

“The trade in general has a skills shortage and staff retention is really important, especially for an independent garage like ourselves. We have a great bunch of staff and a fantastic working environment and even when work is tough our employees tell us they love coming in every day. It’s important to us to have the right fit in the team and people that are committed to supporting each other and providing exceptional customer service. That’s why there’s such a nice vibe about the place and a real sense of teamwork as we work collaboratively and can always ask each other for help.”

Dan and Donna are really passionate about the service they provide to the Bracknell community and  being a part of the Bracknell BID. Donna said, “Being part of the BID makes it feel like someone’s looking out for us and it brings all the businesses in area a little bit closer together. It can be daunting at times being a small locally owned business, but the BID events and support we get from them make us feel more included.
