Community comes together for eighth successful Bracknell BID litter pick – Bracknell News

The following article was released on the 29th March on the Bracknell News website, and can be originally read here.

Volunteers from local businesses have been out in force as part of a series of organised ‘Tidy Days’ to clean up Bracknell.

The success of Bracknell Business Improvement District’s (BID) eighth community litter pick marked another significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to enhance the general condition and appearance of the Southern and Western Business Areas.

Originally launched in March 2022 as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’ campaign, Bracknell BID’s ‘Tidy Day’ sessions now take place throughout the year, providing a great opportunity for local business owners and employees to give back to their community. Over a lunchtime period, enthusiastic volunteers from local organisations donate their time, don hi-vis vests, gloves and wield litter pickers as they head out to help tidy up the BID area, regularly collecting over 40 bags of litter a time.

Kevin Morrison, Finance Director from Midwich Ltd said: “It’s a well-deserved break from the office, getting out in the fresh air and helping to serve our local community in the process.

“It gives us great satisfaction to be able to make a contribution and donate our time to improve the area.”

Sean Griffin, Bracknell BID Manager, added: “We’d like to say a huge thanks to the local businesses who have proactively volunteered their employees and the individuals themselves who have given up their lunch breaks.”
